Leadership Builders
AFA Groupe Conseil is a niche company that offers specialized services in leadership development and organizational development by helping managers, teams, and organizations perform better while ensuring that the work environment remains healthy.
“Team development has gained significant momentum over the past 15 years,” states Ian Kaiser, who is passionate about psychology and development. “An organization’s performance no longer rests on a single person but on the right teams,” he points out. “Previously, the vast majority of our team interventions were triggered by conflict or underperformance. Today, many of the teams we support are teams that function well but have the ambition to continue improving and performing with better synergy.”
“Organizations increasingly aspire to build a performance culture that is healthy and sustainable, enabling talent attraction and retention,” highlights Nancy Martin. “In 2025, toxic climates no longer have a place: teams seek environments where trust, respect, and collaboration prevail. Our Climate and Performance expertise supports organizations in this evolution, allowing them to consolidate healthy practices and prevent or eliminate harmful dynamics.”
“The reality of management tends to become more complex, and we’re seeing this,” adds Jean-François Denis. “And let’s keep in mind that in addition to this increased complexity: 1) most people in management positions haven’t been trained to assume this type of responsibility, and 2) younger generations of managers expect to be supported in their new management role. Management, when energizing, can be fantastic, but when it becomes draining, it can turn into a nightmare,” he concludes.
What’s next for AFA
What does the future hold for AFA beyond its 40th anniversary? “We’re already well established in major centers like Montreal and Quebec City, and now we’re launching an offensive to develop the Ottawa-Gatineau market,” specifies Mr. Denis. “Artificial intelligence is obviously at the heart of our attention, both for our internal operations and for the evolution of our service offering. We’re leveraging AI while maintaining the human element. We must also remain attentive to ethical and security considerations associated with AI,” specifies the president of AFA Groupe Conseil.
The four partners steering AFA’s destiny are convinced that the human element is here to stay with respect to their company’s target clientele of managers and teams. “We’re living in a golden age for HR,” Jean-François Denis concludes with passion. “Leaders have understood: the person responsible for talent has become essential at the management table. And we firmly intend to remain the best at supporting them.”…
